They like me! Oh no, they like me....

Soulmates

She has the most beautiful eyes. He has facial features of a movie star hero. She has an intelligence that makes her every word a learning experience. He has a way to make everything funny and lighthearted. They are not made for each other but they will make for each other.

With every day he gives her a reason to smile through the science and the logic. With every moment he falls deeper and deeper into the bottomless allure of her eyes. He finds strength in her arms because she has all the characteristics he never got around to perfecting. In him she learned that she wasn't truly looking to be equal. She was looking for the freedom from the competition of evening out. They would not be a match made in heaven. But they would be a match made.

Time will march on. And they will each flow into each others missing parts. They will be held together by their will. And they will grow in love like a stone to the bottom of the ocean. In their reality they will blaze a trail across the solar system like a comet. Blazing and unstoppable. Bound on a path preordain by them their selves. They will be watched by the heavens.

You can spend your time thinking that a search will uncover a treasure chest. You can spend your time on an electronic program and shop like it's a catalog. You can believe the romance novels that are fantasies written by people who fantasize. Or you can just come to the realization that for thousands of years the only answer is just to be honest and roll up your sleeves, admit to yourself the one inescapable fact. Anyone can love you, it's just an emotion. Soulmates are not what you find they're what you make. And they will be made of what you're willing to build them out of.

They will make theirs out of love, admiration, attraction, trust, reliance, and will power. They will mix it with blood sweat and tears. Oh, did I leave out a nice helping of premium respect. Not found in your local Walmart.

    1. Everyone seems to pay lip service to the word respect. We all say that we give it. Well if that's true I would think for the person we call soulmate we would give a version of respect that is real. Thereby making it premium.
