I want to war no more. I want peace. I long for harmony. I no longer want to General the armies of above or below. I want to war no more.

I long for cherished eyes to look into. For welcoming hand to hold. For lazy days and night. For the things that I taught. For the things that I fought.

But for the two sides of the coin and that coin is war. The tug of war of one man's soul. The seesaw of life to hold. It's not one thing, always another. All the while above and below chanting and raving for more, more, war!

The dream of twilight years were old wounds are but just a distant memory. Faded scar tissue from the injuries of battles long dead. Days left filled with the smell, free of battlefield smoke. No longer to hear the screams even of myself waking from the horror in the midst of the night.

What will it take to be granted this boon? Have I not fought enough to earn my parole? Above and below want their war. Those in the middle silently chew their cud and go about their daily business. while I collapse on the battlefield of thee eternal strife. For the unforgivable sin of picking up the shield of Valor and the sword of Justice. Such fairytale lies told to the initiate. Save me! Forgive me! End me! Words, only words to echo through the air as empty as above and below. Now to be cursed to never war no more.

To tell a joke on a warm summer day. To dance in the dark with or without accompaniment. To cry saltless tears. To bring joy to the heart of, to echo back. Wake early in the morning without direction. To stumble into slumber late at night for the fun of. To not care the reason. To not wait for a particular season. To receive the kiss of approval. To be the recipient of the nudge of acceptance. To raise the cup in fellowship. Be the part of any part.

No one to ask. No one to pray to. Above and Below are tied to their struggle, to witch no solder too much. No loss to great. For them. No one for me to cry out for what I saw. No way for me to War No More
