Who wants to live forever

My toes rest in the deepest ocean trench. My head reigns higher than any bird has flown. My arms embrace all clouds. I sit from one mountain range to another. With you I am all. Heaven above and Earth below.

But gone, I am still all. What good is immortality? What benefits a man to have his eternal soul if he has known a soul eternal? I am all, and all of nothing. Who wants to live forever.

Mortals stair to the heavens. I am all, I am among the heavens. Mankind shapes this world to his understanding. I am all, I am this world to my understanding. Civilizations strive after every challenge. Without the challenge of the soul eternal there can be no challenge. Who wants to live forever.

I may still enter Paradise. For I am all. But I will do so without the companionship of the soul eternal. Time into time Forever, forever. An eternal soul alone without the soul eternal. Eternity as half. Forever incomplete, Time into time. An infinite dark tunnel half lit. An empty Paradise. Eternity can be a hell.

Mortals are small. They are wishful. They sing they dance they laugh they die. If I lay down on the mountain range, will I wake to join them? Will I renounce my eternity in Paradise to sing and dance among them? Die among them? Never knowing again the all?

Who wants to live forever anyway.....

I had wrote the first paragraph this morning and by this evening I had assumed it was an unfinished thought. Then I came across this video.

Being a fan of Queen I knew the song. What they did with it was beyond touching. And so much true to how I feel. Even this writing does not fully appreciate just how much.
