The War
6/4/16
I miss the war. God save me. The brothers in arms, the oneness of purpose. The roar of the artillery. The blaze of the guns. I miss the war. The charge of the Infantry the domination of the tanks in Rush. The cold rations in the rain. The never ending march to the next hill and objective. I miss the war. I remember losing a whole platoon more than once, in one night. The break of dawn finding myself alone on the field flag in hand Victorious! I miss the war. The bugle call no more. Never again the purpose, that Duty. Never again the brothers in arms. Never again the Glorious battle! I, I miss the war.. I lost… I was only married 8 years, God save me....
