They like me! Oh no, they like me....

6 Big Heroes!

Yeah, we write about heroes. We make movies and sing songs about them. We all want to be that hero. Not only do we want to make a difference in life. But we want to be seen fighting against the evil and the dark in life. From time to time in my life I have been what could be described arguably as a hero. It felt good. It felt right. It felt clean. I felt validated.

I know it wasn't something that only a few could do. But something only a few would do. The more people who do it redefine the definition of what "it" is. Everyone has a chance to be a hero. But everyone cannot be a hero. By definition it's reserved for those few who choose that path. But yet everyone has the option.

But let's be honest. That is a lot of work. It doesn't pay well. And you will fail far more than you ever succeed. And you only have to fail once for it to be mortal. And deep in the places that we never speak of most of us are cowards.

So to cover all weakness we watch movies. We throw the label around like so many potato chips in a bag. We proclaim it to everyone and everything until it's true meaning is as watered down as the ocean.

So when the call went up to save our platform, I knew it was pointless. For one, it never belonged to us. For two, just another attempt at being a hero without doing a heroes work.

Six days left.  Six days until until I guess what you can call the villain,  wins. Six days and I'm really not trying to fight the good fight. The platform isn't mine. For the most part the people aren't my people. And social media in general in its current form is not necessarily worth saving on any platform. It all seems just to be another way to write about a heroes journey that we ourselves would prefer not to risk to take.

After all being social is a lot of work. It doesn't pay well. And more times than not you'll fail. And it only takes once to be mortal. And deep in the places that we never speak of most of us are cowards.
