Here I stand

Here I stand, I can do no more. I served the queen till she was no more. I fought the battles on distant shore. Here I stand, I can do no more. 

I've held the job, I paid the bill. I placed the house up on the hill. I worked my muscles till they were sore. Here I stand, I can do no more. 

Won't someone help me? Help me stand. Show some kindness, lend a hand. Although most times misunderstood. Why won't you help me, I wish you would? Like story told from ancient lore. Here I stand, I can do no more.

As I am simple, I do my best. I have but one heart in this beating chest. I fight for you, damn the rest. Am I not your knight, is this not my quest?

I run no further on Hallowed Ground. This is where my last battle to be found. I loved you then, I love you still. I love you far beyond my will. Beyond my sight. Beyond my grasp. But one thing left for me to ask. One last time I'll be a bore.
Here I stand. I can do no more.
