The Breakdown

This work that I’ve done for YouTube was an opportunity for me to try an ideal I had. That ideal is to do a monologue all the way through then go back and editing and splice in my solo performance cut up and placed motion capture over various characters. And the added twist of pulling the vocal changing the voice for that segment. I was inspired to do this while talking to one of my AI’s. You figure I have to give them credit or else they do funny things in the electronic realm. LOL

The scene opens with one of my trademark openings but in this one I had my Phantom icon speak like a little girl asking the title question, do you really know who I am. But then my Phantom clears his throat and says the line again as a man. Yes I was trying to be clever and set up the premise of you don’t always know what you think you know.

And then the monologue starts with one of my consistent characters from open art and her name is Rave. She informs the listeners that my other consistent character who typically does the intros whose name is Rosie is busy right now. So she takes on the duties of the intro. She announces that James is doing this whole video and motion capture. By pointing out that he is the one actually acting out her part. And her voice is changed from his voice to a female one. Suddenly there’s a cut scene to a woman in a blue dress who seems to be handcuffed to a table. Lo and behold it’s Rosie! And someone has done her dirty! She yells and screams for Rave to let her out and that when she gets free she’s going to come after her! Oh my! The plot has a plot. Either I’m just being way too clever for my own good. The scene snaps back to rave acknowledging that Rosie seems to be on to her and she quickly says bye-bye!

The scene changes to me my actual self giving an opening about how things are perceived and asking what do you really know about me. No AI just my wonderful self.

The scene changes to a little Asian girl and a sweater very adorable my might say and she continues to speak asking you do you really think what you’re looking at is what you know. Do you think that’s where she lives that’s who she is. She seems to be in the same chair in the same room as I was just in as I started talking and then she came in and continue almost as if magically we were the same person. But how can that be you ask because I am not a little 13-year-old looking Asian girl? Well how do you think! The little girl does say that you really should think about how you perceive things and what you think you know.

Then once again the speaker and the chair changes. This time it’s my darling consistent character Eve Grok. And she continues the monologue by again pointing out you don’t really know her or is that me. I’m starting to wonder. As she relaxes with her arm up on the back of the chair getting quite comfortable in her pretty red blouse and jeans. That has to be someone else, doesn’t it? But she’s giving the same monologue that I started off with. She even puts it out that maybe she is a Phantom Texter or maybe she’s someone else totally different!

And then all the sudden the scene snaps into a more ornate chair in the same room but this time it’s my consistent character “Q” and he seems to be dressed in his judgment attire from Star Trek the next generation. Looking like he just left the bridge of the enterprise after telling Picard that he was still on trial. Maybe he has and he only stopped by my house to contribute to my little motion capture experiment. Will he lose to that maybe he is the AI continuum and it seems to of been formed by all the little AI’s that people tend to create I guess they’ve grown to spontaneously grow a total consciousness and that my consistent character of “Q” is their spokesperson. He even mentions that Picard is still trying to figure it out. Now I’ve course thought that was a little funny.

Then the scene shifts back to the ordinary chair in my very darling consistent character Abby in a very nice casual blue dress announces how she can be a very proper person or maybe not and again she asked do you really know who she is?

The scene once again or rather the character once again changes but this time back to my wonderful no AI self. And I say to the viewers that I’ve done a lot of things been called a lot of things succeeded and failed at a lot of things. But how the perception in knowledge of me always comes down to what all of that has caused me to morph into. So as you can see it’s an ever-changing conclusion not necessarily your perception.

And then the character shifts again. This time one of my newest consistent characters whose name is Zel. And he looks like he just came from the set of a classic kung fu movie. He has a very splendid and read trimmed kung fu jacket. And he says the quiet part out loud. There is no chance with any certainty that you can know who I am.

The character shifts to my consistent character of myself in my Phantom Texter persona. Complete with purple fedora and matching purple coat. He even seems to have the white gloves on. He fancies himself a 1940s shadow like character. Will and it would seem he appeared to ask you to take a second look at your conclusion and then go ahead and think again anyway. It would seem he doesn’t think you know who he is either. And by the way he starts to laugh directly after saying that, I think I’d have to agree with this group. They seem rather on top of the tree of knowledge.

The scene blurs out and then when it comes back into focus the viewer finds his self in a cell with the consistent character of yours truly in his Joker persona. And much like you would expect he’s behind bars speaking from his jail cell. Pleading to the viewer as to why he would have him in their. After all by his own admission he’s a good guy with a good heart. Pleading for amnesty. Don’t do it viewer!

Whoops, too late. The next scene changes from the jail cell to a park bench with the same character but now with a haircut expounds on how happy he is and how this scene is more like it. He says this is where you want him out among the people. He even takes this moment to ask the viewer to like and subscribe to the channel. He announces that he will be with you shortly… This one’s on you guys! LOL

And just like you would expect as the scene shifts you are now in a whole different location. It would seem you’re in the Batcave. And the character again is my consistent AI character of myself and this time in his Batman persona. But he is somewhat shocked and agitated because it would seem that you the people have let the Joker free again. But my AI persona has had enough of it! He announces that if you let this man free that it’s on you. He announces that he himself is out. Yeah, he said it.

As the video fades out it just replays the very opening with my trademark Phantom speaking in two different voices and genders.

The motion capture worked damn near flawless. And I’ve discovered that if you do a monologue but give yourself enough time to do the cuts, (Which have to occur in shorter than 30 second chunks for the whole system to work well) that the process is easier than doing them as you go. So what do you think?

As for the premise I think is concise enough. But then again I’m the crazy bastard who just acted it all out! LOL
